What is inside
Four salts, one for each kind of week. Use them in this order the first time through. You clear a space before you invite anything into it.
1 of 4
Shuddhi — cleansing
Clear what you are carrying
Some visitors leave, and the room still feels full.Lemon and lavender cut through what settled on your skin, with hyssop, lemongrass and lemon peel going in coarse cut and bitter.
The salt pulls. The water carries it out through the drain.
How to use
Use it whenever you come home carrying something.
Before you begin, name the thing you are putting down.
2 of 4
Sukoon — calming
Settle what will not slow down
Your body is in bed. Your mind is still in the meeting.Lavender and chamomile take the edge off the room. Cedarwood sits underneath, low and dry, giving the whole thing something to stand on.
Nothing here needs to be achieved.
How to use
Use it on the nights that will not switch off.
Put the phone in another room first.
3 of 4
Khud Se — self-love
Come back to yourself
You served everyone else first. Again.Rose and jasmine open the water. Sandalwood keeps it grounded, so the softness has somewhere to sit.
For twenty minutes, nobody needs anything from you.
How to use
Use it on the days you gave everything away.
Before you get in, name one thing about yourself you usually walk past.
4 of 4
Samriddhi — abundance
Point your energy at what is growing
Something has finally started to move, and you do not want to waste it.Orange and bergamot open the room. Patchouli and cinnamon bark sit underneath, dark and resinous, keeping you in your body while your head runs ahead.
You come out thinking forward instead of back.
How to use
Use it in the week something starts to move.
Hold one intention, and make it specific.
The ritual
The method is the same for all four. One a week is the easiest rhythm. After the first round, reach for whichever one the week is asking for.
Step 1
Run the water
Fill a bucket with warm water, or run your bath. Warm, not hot — the botanicals open either way.
Step 2
Add the salt
Two to three teaspoons. Stir until the salt is gone and the water clouds.
Step 3
Name it
Before you get in, say what this bath is for. Hold it while you bathe, not while you are drying off.
Step 4
Let it drain
Let the water go straight down the drain. The botanicals are coarse cut and will not block it.
