The Founder
The Founder
Behind Ishmaya is a personal story.
Vaibhavi Aithal Founder, Ishmaya
Ishmaya began with a feeling I couldn't put into words. A fascination with the things that make us pause: the rituals that bring us back to ourselves, and the objects we hold onto because, over time, they start to mean something more.
I was drawn to the metaphysical world not for what these objects were, but for what they could represent. A crystal could become a reminder. A bath could become a way of letting go of the day. A small object could mark the beginning of something new. Simple things, holding a personal place in our lives.
The beginning of Ishmaya
The idea grew from wanting a space where all of this could come together. Beautiful without being intimidating, spiritual without being prescriptive, thoughtful without being complicated. I wanted a place where someone could walk in with years of spiritual practice, or with nothing more than curiosity, and feel equally welcome.
That became the heart of Ishmaya.
Why it matters to me
I believe we all have moments when we need to reconnect with ourselves. Sometimes we know exactly what we need. Sometimes we don't.
Ishmaya is my way of making beautiful spaces and useful tools for those moments. I'm not here to tell you what to believe, or to promise that one object can change everything. I want to offer something you can hold, use, explore, and make part of your own story.
Building Ishmaya
As Ishmaya grows, I want it to be more than a shop: a place where you can learn about the metaphysical world, find rituals that feel personal, discover objects that speak to you, and take a little more time to listen to yourself.
The collection will grow and change. The feeling behind it will stay the same: curiosity without judgement, and ritual without rules.
A note from me
If you've found your way here, thank you. You may have been drawn to this world for years, or arrived today because something caught your eye. Either way, I hope you find something that stays with you. A crystal you reach for when you need grounding, or a ritual that becomes part of a quiet evening.
I hope one of them becomes yours.
With love, Vaibhavi Aithal Founder, Ishmaya
